Well that was weird. I looked to click ‘reply’ on whatever message appeared first in the long list of messages, and what do you know, it was Thanksgiving of last year.
This week was great! I went back to Fletcher. Again! This time to confer the Aaronic Priesthood to Byron. We got there in the middle of the Primary program and my little America was singing. She saw me in the doorway and her voice caught a little in her throat hahaha it was so cute!! I love her. I saw a LOT of people that I loved there yesterday. And a little ecuadorean punk that Elder Crossley owned in wrestling last Christmas Eve was at church! For the first time in years! And he told us, ‘I don’t know if I want to go BYU, then a mission or a mission then BYU.’ YEEEEEAAHH!! SO exciting! He’s made a big turnaround. I love it when people change their lives to live the gospel more fully. Every time, and I mean EVERY time, they are happier. Christ is a stud.
This week was hard. But really rewarding. The whole mission had an opportunity to experience the Atonement firsthand. For those who don’t know, Elder Page, an elder serving here passed away this week. He was hit by a car and never regained consciousness. Yesterday we met as a mission for his memorial service. The love of the Lord was felt, and love between the servants of the Lord was shared freely. Many tears were shed. But I know so much more deeply how important the Atonement is, I know to a greater extent how the Lord feels about us. My capacity to love has increased. The plan of salvation is so much more real to me. Guys, life is good. The Gospel is true. And I know that it is the only thing that can bring us hope. It is the only thing that will neer abandon us. It is there in the hardest of times. It is what makes good times good. I love it. And I love all of you.
